The chocolate brown clay gives this pot a rustic texture as the blue glaze breaks over the carvings. It is a great size for painting or calligraphy, measuring 3" wide x 2 1/2" high. The carved recess holds a pen or brush when not in use.
This water pot is hand-thrown on a wheel, and carved while the clay is still soft. It is then bisque-fired before being dipped into a glossy blue glaze and fired once more to cone 6.
